Lyrics “Ready or not here they come, It’s Zombie time.” We were the magnificent dreamers, In secret lamplight hideouts. We swore the world couldn’t break us, Even when the world took us down. So here I am struggling, Out in the mighty jungle, Moving eighteen miles a minute, But not slowing down for nothing. I look to my left, And I look to my right. I’m calling out for my brothers, But it’s so dark in this night. Am I alone? Did they fall down by the wayside? Was I moving too blind to see them? Were they calling out to me? Or did despair set in? Were the things that we wanted when we were still sixteen, Only passing and fleeting or just too far out of reach? Were you hard up or broken man? I woulda helped you out. Were you numb and distracted while I was calling out? I was calling out. On a Sunday morning the whole crowd assembled. I’ve done some things that I’m not too proud of. I’ve never left you, A deaf ear for longing. Some hearts are gallows, I’m not here for hangin’ around. It’s alright, man, I’m only bleeding, man. Stay hungry, stay free, And do the best you can.

It’s alright, man,
I’m only bleeding, man.
Stay hungry, stay free,
And do the best you can.
The bridge guitar sounds like Pink Floyd. That one song by Floyd. I like it.
I know you wrote this three months ago but Here’s Looking at you kid is one of their best for sure.
4 months ago, but I’m glad you agree, it was strange seeing an email from youtube when this was the last thing I commented on.. haha
I love the second guitar in this one!
I think that the second guitar part is actually from “simple man” by lynrd skynrd
i think the bridge, uk the “its alrite man im only bleeding man” bit is a take on bob dylan’s “its alrite ma, im only bleeding”…he has a tendancy to pay tribute 2 his influences, like in the High Lonesome he cites the counting crows in the chorus and springsteen in the bridge i personally think its really cool…ive adopted it in my songwriting
I think most of the guitar parts and lyrics are by the Gaslight Anthem… what a great influence!!
It’s alright man. I’m only only bleeding man. Stay hungry, stay free, and do the best you can.
seeing them live in 3 days or so…. YEAAAAAAHHHH
@pandorasmk correct band wrong song it sound like the start of tuesdays gone
See? This is how music SHOULD be. <3
“It’s alright man, I’m only bleeding man”, knowing Brian Fallon and his approach to song writing I’m willing to bet that’s a reference to Bob Dylan’s “It’s Alright, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)”.
