If you got married in California could you still be able to get a divorce in lets say..New York? Or would you have to go back to California to get a divorce?

You do NOT have to get divorced in the state where you were married. I was married in MD, my divorce was obtained in MA. Call your local county court house & see if there are any stipulations on how long you must reside in that state prior to filing. You’ll get all the ans. you need…the best to you…:)
I believe you have to reside in New York for at least 6 months. Just to be sure, you should call an attorney to see what you can do.
